Mary Jane Mather

Mary was born in December 1866 in Adlington.¹

Mary's father was Edward Mather and her mother was Jane Norris. She had two brothers and six sisters, named Hugh, Charles, Alice, Betsy, Ellen, Martha, Rose and Margaret. She was the oldest of the nine children. She died at the age of 55 in 1921 in Adlington.²

- Mary Jane remained a spinster. (The Mary Jane Mather that married at Chorlet in 1888, was the daughter of a William).

  In 1901, Mary J Mather (35) was Head at 7 Anderton Street with younger siblings Charles (23) and Rose E (19).
  
  In 1911, Mary Jane (44) and Rose Elizabeth (27) were still single at 11 Anderton Street (a 4 room house).
