Margaret was born in 1786 in Turton.

Birth Notes

Margaret's father was Peter Mather and her mother was Ellen Howarth. Her paternal grandparents were Peter Mather and Elizabeth (Betty) Cranshaw; her maternal grandparents were George Howarth and Ellen Greenhalgh. She had seven brothers and a sister, named William, Richard, Thomas, Thomas, James, Peter, John and Ellen. She was the second youngest of the nine known children. She died as an infant in September 1786 in Turton. She was buried on September 15th, 1786 at Turton Chapel.¹²
