Joseph Mather

Joseph was born in 1858 in Middleton and his baptism took place on December 5th, 1858 at St. Leonard (Middleton).¹²

Joseph's father was William Mather and his mother was Eliza Graham. His paternal grandparents were Nathaniel (Nathan) Mather and Alice Brooks. He had three brothers and seven sisters, named John, Alfred, Fred, Hannah, Jane, Polly, Alice, Eliza, Marion and Martha. He was the fourth oldest of the eleven children.
