Alfred Mather

Alfred was born in 1862 in Middleton.¹

Alfred's father was William Mather and his mother was Eliza Graham. His paternal grandparents were Nathaniel (Nathan) Mather and Alice Brooks. He had three brothers and seven sisters, named John, Joseph, Fred, Hannah, Jane, Polly, Alice, Eliza, Marion and Martha. He was the sixth oldest of the eleven children.

- 4 Jun 1892, Alfred Mather (29) a Printer of Rhodes married Mary Sanderson Lawson (21) at Rhodes, All Saints, Middleton.
  
  1893-1893, After they married they stayed at Rhodes, Prestwich which is where Margaret and Gertrude's births were registered.
  
  1895 to 1904, the childrens births were registered at Blatchinworth and Calderbrook, Littleborough (Rochdale District).
  
  In 1907, daughter Mary Sanderson Mather was born in Disley, Cheshire (Hayfield, on the Derbyshire boarder).
