Jonathan Mather

Jonathan was born on December 13th, 1833 in Entwistle and his baptism took place on February 2nd, 1834 at Edgworth Independent.¹²

Jonathan's father was James Mather and his mother was Martha Kay. His paternal grandparents were James Mather and Rachel Hamer. He had five brothers and two sisters, named John, Amos, Eli, Abraham, James, Sarah and Nancy. He was the second oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 55 in April 1889. His burial was on April 23rd, 1889 in Blackburn.³

  In 1881, Jonathan and Mary (47 & 42) were at 199 Duckworth Street, Over Darwen with John (14), Amos (7), and James (5).
  
  Jonathan died in 1889. In 1891, Widow Mary (49) was with her sons John (24), Amos (17) and James (15)
