Who is John the grinder, born Little Bolton about 1854, son of John Mather? He birth was registerdd 1853, Little Bolton MATHER+MATHER (i.e. father unknown).
On 1 Jan 1876, John Mather (22), a grinder from Barlow Street, son of John (dec.) married Eliza Horrobin (21), the girl next door, dau of James (dec). They were living at 21 and 23 Barlow Street, Little Bolton.
On 1 Jan 1876, John, a grinder, son of John (his adoptive grandparent) married Eliza Horrobin at Bolton St Peter. Jophn and Eliza were at 21 and 23 Barlow Street (where he was in 1861)
In 1881, John, a stripper and grinder, and Eliza (both 26) were at 1 Bailey Street, Halliwell with daughters Mary E (4) and Jane (1). Eliza's brother (tbc) Samuel Horrobin (31) was a boarder.
