John Mather

John was born on March 17th, 1847 in Blackrod and his baptism took place on April 18th, 1847 at St. Katherine (B'rod).¹

John's father was Richard Mather and his mother was Jane Walls. His paternal grandparents were Nathan Mather and Alice Makinson. He had two brothers and four sisters, named James, Nathan, Ann, Alice, Jane and Mary. He was the third oldest of the seven children. He died at the age of 72 on August 2nd, 1919. His burial was in August 1919 at St. Katherine (B'rod).²
