James Mather

James was born on February 24th, 1843 in Blackrod and his baptism took place on April 16th, 1843 at St. Katherine (B'rod).¹

James' father was Richard Mather and his mother was Jane Walls. His paternal grandparents were Nathan Mather and Alice Makinson. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Nathan, John, Ann, Alice, Jane and Mary. He was the oldest of the seven children. He died at the age of 27 on March 12th, 1870. His burial was in March 1870 at St. Katherine (B'rod).²
