11 Dec 1915, James Mather (21) of Bolton Fold Farm, Horwich, son of Alfred, joined the Loyal North Lancashjire Regiment of the British Army. Regiment Number Private 243467. He was 5'7.25" and 160 lbs.
He was mobilised and posted to France in March 1916, 12-13 Feb 1817 James was in France. His pay was sent to 6 Tower Buildings, Chorley Old Road, Bolton.
1925, James married Annie Hart.
