Henry Mather

Henry was born in April 1781 in Pennington and his baptism took place on April 29th, 1781 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Leigh).^1 2

Henry's father was Henry Mather and his mother was Betty Keele. He had two brothers and a sister, named John, James and Peggy.  He was the second youngest of the four children. He had a half-brother and four half-sisters, named Joseph, Sarah, Sally, Ann and Mary.  He died at the age of 67 in October 1848 in Westhoughton.  He was buried on October 15th, 1848 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Leigh).^3 3
