General Notes
There are two or more Henry Mather's with childrens baptisms at Leigh. Betty and Ann, both baptised in 1766, cannot be of the same mother. This Henry has all the baptisms recorded with abode West Leigh (the other Pennington)
There appears to be two groupings of children at Pennington, none with reoccuring names, so it is possible Henry married twice.
Henry and Betty were married in a religious ceremony on May 16th, 1776 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Leigh).1
