Ernest Mather

Ernest was born in April 1883 in Turton and his baptism took place on April 1st, 1883 at Christ Church, Walmsley.¹²

Ernest's father was John Mather and his mother was Elizabeth Naylor. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Mather and Hannah (Ann) Kirkham. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Arthur, Thomas, John, Charles, James, John and Annie. He was the fourth oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 36 in January 1920 in Halliwell.¹
