Elizabeth (Betty) Mather

Elizabeth, known as Betty, was born in December 1839 in Entwistle.¹

Betty's father was Isaac Mather and her mother was Elizabeth (Betty) Marsden. Her paternal grandparents were James Mather and Rachel Hamer. She had five brothers and four sisters, named James, Simon, Luke, Joseph, John, Sophia, Ruth, Sarah and Esther. She was the oldest of the ten children. She had a half-brother named Isaac. She died at the age of 30 in March 1870 in Bolton.²
