Caroline Mather

Caroline was born in 1835 in Turton.¹

Caroline's father was Henry Mather and her mother was Mary Chadwick. Her paternal grandparents were William Mather and Margaret (Peggy) Ashworth. She had four brothers named James, William, Henry and Charles. She was the youngest of the five children.

- In 1851, Mary (53), William, Henry and Caroline (22, 20 & 15) were visiting Henry Blackledge (40) in East Sculcoates, Yorkshire.
