Before 1723, there are no marriage or baptism records for John. It is likely he married Martha had a son John baptised elsewhere (possibly Bury or Bolton).
In 1729 (indexed 1730), when James was baptised the record shows John was a Hatter.
In 1739 (if Martha had died) John remarried Mary Fielding. However there is a death record for Martha in 1749. Therefore it is likely to be John's son and both are hatters.
In Dec 1756, John, a labourer (aka The Old Hatter) of Haslingden died.
