Bessie Mather

Bessie was born on January 19th, 1906 in Tonge-with-Haulgh.¹

Bessie's father was William Mather and her mother was Elizabeth Rigby. Her paternal grandparents were Samuel Mather and Sarah Ann Williams; her maternal grandparents were John Rigby and Ellen Rigby. She had a brother and a sister, named Jack and Norah. She was the oldest of the three children. She died at the age of 67 in March 1973 in Farnworth.²
