Ann was born on December 22nd, 1825 in Whitefield and her baptism took place on December 29th, 1825 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Prestwich).1 2  Ann's father was James Chadwick Mather and her mother was Sarah Charlton.  Her paternal grandparents were Francis Mather and Elizabeth Chadwick. She had five brothers and a sister, named John, Sarah, Francis, James, Thomas and Elizabeth.  She was the oldest of the seven children.  She died at the age of 46 on June 7th, 1872.
