James Chadwick Mather

James was born on April 15th, 1834 in Whitefield and his baptism took place on July 14th, 1834 at All Saints (Stand).¹²

James' father was James Chadwick Mather and his mother was Sarah Charlton. His paternal grandparents were Francis Mather and Elizabeth Chadwick. He had four brothers and two sisters, named John, Sarah, Francis, Thomas, Ann and Elizabeth. He was the third youngest of the seven children. He died at the age of 61 on July 28th, 1895 in Caernarvonshire.³

‌James and Sarah were married. They had three sons and six daughters, named James, Francis, Chadwick, Elizabeth, Sarah, Amelia, Amy, Rose and Blanche.
