Banjamin was born in September 1913 in Wrexham.1  Banjamin's father was James Patrick MacDonald and his mother was Elizabeth Ann Barker.  His maternal grandparents were Aldred Barker and Rose (Rosanna) Anna Evans. He had two sisters named Lizzie and Ethel.  He was the second oldest of the three children. He had three half-brothers and four half-sisters, named John, George, Henry, Irene, Amelia, Sarah and Rose.  He died at the age of 91 in 2004.

‌Banjamin and Lily were married in a religious ceremony in June 1936 in Wrexham.2   They had two daughters named Jeannette and Pandora.  There are no more children.
