Elizabeth's father was Aldred Barker and her mother was Rose (Rosanna) Anna Evans. Her maternal grandparents were John Evans (Whitall) and Elizabeth Eddowes. She had five brothers and three sisters, named John, James, Noel, Ben, Charles, Mary, Amelia and Rosanna. She was the eighth oldest of the nine children. She died at the age of 54 in January 1949 in Wrexham.²
