Francis Knowles

Francis was born in January 1865 in Little Bolton and his baptism took place on January 17th, 1866 at All Saints, Little Bolton.¹²

Francis' father was Robert Knowles and his mother was Mary Ann Mather. His maternal grandparents were John Mather and Alice Gore. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Francis, John, Robert, Ellen, Alice, Jane, Elizabeth and Ellen. He was the seventh oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 51 in July 1916 in Bolton.³
