James Kay

James was born on October 3rd, 1825 in Halliwell and his christening took place on October 4th, 1826 in Deane.^1 2

James' father was Ralph Kay and his mother was Ruth Taylor.  His paternal grandparents were James Kay and Betty Holt. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Samuel, John, Elizabeth, Sarah, Hannah and Rachel. He had two adopted sisters named Mary and Ruth.  He died at the age of 22 in February 1848.  He was buried on February 22nd, 1848 in Bolton.³
