Mary Kay

Mary was born in 1834 in Halliwell and her baptism took place on January 1st, 1834 at St. Mary (Deane).¹²

Mary's father was <unknown> and her mother was Elizabeth Kay. Her maternal grandparents were Ralph Kay and Ruth Taylor. She had a sister named Ruth. She was the younger of the two children. She was adopted by Ralph Kay & Ruth Taylor who also adopted Ruth. She had two half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Samuel, John, Susannah, Margaret, Sarah and Ruth. She died at the age of 60 on December 20th, 1894 in Bolton.³

- Hannah, Mary and Rachel lived together as three spinsters at 143 Halliwell Road, Halliwell, Deane, Lancashire from birth to beyond 1891. They cannot be found on the 1881 census, but Hannah and Rachel reappear on the 1901, still as spinsters.
  
  Mary, the first of the three spinsters died Dec 1894, leaving £215 to the other two.
