George Jones

George was born in 1852 in Threapwood.¹ George's father was Richard Jones and his mother was Sarah Brereton. His maternal grandparents were Richard Brereton and (Elizabeth) Ellen Lea. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Richard, John, Thomas, Mary, Martha, Ann, Ester and Elizabeth. He was the oldest of the nine known children.
