Margaret's father was Thomas (Tom) Hale and her mother was Margaret Winslade. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Hale and Ann Brereton. She had a brother and a sister, named Thomas and Annie. She was the second oldest of the three children. She had two half-sisters named Doreen and Marjory. She died at the age of 73 on December 28th, 1981 in Bebington.²
