Esther was born in 1810 in Berry Brow.1 Esther's father was Matthew Gledhill and her mother was Betty Stocks. Her paternal grandparents were Matthew Gledhill and Susannah (Susy) Dawson; her maternal grandparents were George Stocks and Mary Blackburn. She had four brothers and a sister, named David, <male>, Matthew, Hamor and Ruth. She was the third oldest of the six children.General Notes
