Ruth Crosland

Ruth was born on April 30th, 1790 in Butternab and her baptism took place on May 15th, 1790 in Highfield (Independent).¹

Ruth's father was James Crosland and her mother was Mary Sanderson. Her paternal grandparents were John Crosland Jnr and Ellen Firth. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Joseph, James, Valentine, Charles, Hannah, Mary and Martha. She was the seventh oldest of the eight children. She died at the age of 13 in May 1803 in Butternab. Her burial was on May 12th, 1803 in Almondbury.²
