Charles Crosland

Charles was born on February 4th, 1788 in Butternab and his baptism took place on March 6th, 1788 in Highfield (Independent) conducted by minister William Moorhouse.¹

Charles' father was James Crosland and his mother was Mary Sanderson.  His paternal grandparents were John Crosland Jnr and Ellen Firth. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Joseph, James, Valentine, Hannah, Mary, Ruth and Martha.  He was the third youngest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 51 in July 1839 in Armitage Bridge.  He was buried on July 14th, 1839.
