Robert Crosland

Robert was born in 1837 in Barnsley and his baptism took place on February 26th, 1837 at St. Mary (Barnsley).^1 2

Robert's father was John Crosland and his mother was Ann (Nanny) Townend.  His paternal grandparents were Joseph Crosland and Ann Darwent. He had eight brothers and four sisters, named Charles, John, Fred, Job, Albert, Sam, Everett, Arthur, Harriet, Hannah, Emma and Eliza.  He was the second oldest of the thirteen known children.  He died at the age of 21 in September 1858 in Barnsley.³
