Samuel (Sam) Crosland

Samuel, known as Sam, was born in June 1855 in Barnsley.¹

Sam's father was John Crosland and his mother was Ann (Nanny) Townend.  His paternal grandparents were Joseph Crosland and Ann Darwent. He had eight brothers and four sisters, named Charles, Robert, John, Fred, Job, Albert, Everett, Arthur, Harriet, Hannah, Emma and Eliza.  He was the third youngest of the thirteen known children.  He died at the age of 65 in 1920.
