Lily was born in September 1892 in Birkenhead.¹

Lily's father was John Brockbank and her mother was Mary Ann Kenna. Her paternal grandparents were John Brockbank and Mary Ann Mather. She had three brothers and six sisters, named John, James, William, Mary, Margaret, Hannah, Edith, Florence and Ethel. She was the nineth oldest of the ten children. She had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Thomas, Joseph and Elizabeth. She died at 3 months old in December 1892 in Birkenhead.¹
