William, known as William II, was born on February 28th, 1611 in Brereton cum Smethwick and his baptism took place on March 8th, 1611.

  This is NOT Sir William 1st Bt. 1604-1661, 1st s. of William Brereton of Handforth and Margaret. That is his uncle of similar age.

William II's father was Sir John Brereton and his mother was Lady Anne Fyton. His paternal grandparents were Lord William Brereton and Margaret Savage; his maternal grandparents were Sir Edward Fyton and Dame Anne Fyton. He had two brothers and two sisters, named John, Edward, Mary and Jane. He was the oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 53 in April 1664 in Brereton cum Smethwick. His burial was on April 21st, 1664 in Brereton cum Smethwick.¹

- William (1611–1664), successor to his grandfather as 2nd baron. He was the son of Sir John Brereton and Anne Fitton.
  
  William Brereton, 2nd Baron Brereton was an English landowner and politician. He supported the Royalist cause during the English Civil War and sat in the House of Commons from 1661 to 1664.
  
  When he died, William left his estate to his wife Elizabeth.
