William was born about 1473 in Brereton cum Smethwick.1   William's father was Andrew Brereton and his mother was Agnes Leigh.  He was an only child.  He died on February 14th, 1541 in Kilkenny.  His burial was on February 4th, 1541 in Kilkenny.2 2
