Ann was born in June 1846 in Harthill and her baptism took place on June 24th, 1846 at All Saints, Harthill.1  Ann's father was Thomas Brereton and her mother was Catherine Rushton.  Her paternal grandparents were Richard Brereton and Elizabeth (Betty) Haywood. She had six brothers and three sisters, named John, Thomas, William, Abraham, Thomas, Richard, Elizabeth, Mary and Catherine.  She was the fourth oldest of the ten children.  She died at the age of 76 in 1922 in Tattenhall.2

‌Ann and Edward were married in a religious ceremony on April 10th, 1870 at All Saints, Harthill.3  They had six biological sons and five biological daughters, named Frederick, Thomas, Edward, Joseph, William, Richard, Catherine, Mary, Elizabeth, Lydia and Verria.  They also had an adopted son named Walter.  There are no more children.
