William Matthew Renton 
William Matthew was born in 1841 in Shotley Bridge, County Durham, England. William Matthew's father was John Renton and his mother was Hannah Siddell. His paternal grandparents were William Renton and Marion Borrowman. He had five brothers and four sisters, named George, John, Thomas, Alfred Allan, Henry Charles, Marion, Annie C., Hannah and Emma Hay. He was the second oldest of the ten children.-
