John Renton 
John was born on February 12th, 1812 in Pathead, Crichton, Midlothian, Scotland and his baptism took place there on April 12th, 1812. John's father was William Renton and his mother was Marion Borrowman. His maternal grandparents were James Barrowman and Elizabeth Vallance. He had three brothers and four sisters, named James, Thomas Borrowman, William, Elizabeth, Elizabeth, Marjorie and Marion. He was the oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 58 in 1870.-
