James Borrowman 
James was born on March 17th, 1711 in Lonhead, Lasswade, Midlothian, Scotland and his baptism took place there on March 25th, 1711. James' father was James Borrowman and his mother was Elizabeth Borthwick. His paternal grandparents were John Barrowman and Janet Gray; his maternal grandparents were Sir Archibald Borthwick 16th Lord and Elizabeth Gillespie. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Archibald, George, Isobel and Martha. He was the second youngest of the five children.-
