George Borrowman 
George was born on April 17th, 1714 in Lonhead, Lasswade, Midlothian and his baptism took place there on April 18th, 1714. George's father was James Borrowman and his mother was Elizabeth Borthwick. His paternal grandparents were John Barrowman and Janet Gray; his maternal grandparents were Sir Archibald Borthwick 16th Lord and Elizabeth Gillespie. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Archibald, James, Isobel and Martha. He was the youngest of the five children.-
