Emma Salhouse Tillett

Emma was born in 1867 in Beccles, Suffolk, England and her christening took place there on January 6th, 1867.¹   Emma's father was Frederick Salhouse Tillett and her mother was Mary  Ann Gross.  Her maternal grandparents were Henry Gross and Mary Ann Mobbs. She had six brothers and five sisters, named Frederick, Harry, Samuel, Frederick, William, Bertie, Lavinia, Mary Ann, Ellen, Edith and Ella.  She was the third oldest of the twelve children.
