Peter Johannes Troxell 
Peter Johannes was born on December 28th, 1723 in Wolfersheim, Germany. Peter Johannes' father was Peter Trachsel and his mother was Juliana Catharina Deshler. His paternal grandparents were Jakob+ Trachsel and Margaretha+ Brengal; his maternal grandfather was David Deshler and his maternal grandmother is Marie Wister. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Daniel Johannes, David, Johannes Michael or John Peter, Christian, George Frederick, Juliana Margaretha and Maria Margaretha. He was the oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 87 on February 28th, 1811 in Lehigh Co., PA.General Notes
Peter served as Captain during the French and Indian War (1754-58) and had a company of 48 men in 1756. He also served in the American Revolutionary War as a private in Capt. Henry Reitz`s Company. Peter revamped part of the strong Troxell house built by his father into a tavern in 1761 (see photo with Peter, Sr.).
