Hans Jakob+ was born in 1631 in Lenk, Canton of Berne, Switzerland. Hans Jakob+'s father was Hans+ Trachsel and his mother was Anna+ Brechten. His paternal grandparents were Jakob+ Trachsel and Lena+ Nussbaum; his maternal grandparents were Rudolf+ Brechten and Margaret+ Hugi.
