Capt. Deshler was aide-de-camp to Prince Palintate Louis of Baden in The Wars of the Spanish Succession . I have seen genealogy trees that state that David and Marie were married in year 1711; however, from the research I have gathered to this point regarding their children Adam and Juliana Catherine, they were either married before 1703, or Juliana was of an earlier marriage (or perhaps she was his niece and not his daughter?). I am taking into consideration right now that Capt. Deshler might have had to be born before 1685 (most sites put his birth at about 1690)to be a useful age for service to Prince Louis in that war (1702-13), and also that two historical sources (see below) mention that he married Marie Wister, "sister of Casper Wister who was in Germantown, Pa in 1711", leaving me with the impression somehow that David was already widowed in the Palatinate, but Marie has been listed with a death date of 1731. So as I continue this search, any solid information you might have would be helpful and much appreciated.
