Emory Ellsworth+ Troxell 
Emory Ellsworth+ was born on April 26th, 1901 in Charleston, IL. Emory Ellsworth+'s father was Charles Oscar+ Troxell and his mother was Belma Belle+ Easton. His paternal grandparents were Adam Henry+ Troxell and Sarah Mildred+ Easton; his maternal grandparents were Marion Orlando+ Easton and Rebecca Ann+ Rennels. He had three brothers and a sister, named Charles Lowell, Gerald Emerson, Cameron Dunbar and Vivian Virginia. He was the oldest of the five children. He had a half-sister named Kathryn Jean Troxel. He died at the age of 71 on December 14th, 1972 in Stockton, CA.General Notes

Emory was active in the American Legion. He was a trucker and, from what I hear, he was quite a writer as well! Emory was a naval veteran of WWI. He was rejected from service in WWII on the basis of the number of children he had. A war memorial building in Indianapolis, IN., has Emory listed as killed in action in WWII, but of course, we know that was not the case. Emory was president of the Metal Trades Union at Hunters Point in San Francisco, CA., and commander of the American Legion, Post 737 in 1963, also in San Francisco. He is buried at the Golden Gate National Cemetary in San Mateo, CA. 1901 HI-LITES: On the day before Emory`s birth, NY became the first state requiring license plates for cars. In 1901, the Pan American Expo opened in NY, President Theodore Roosevelt made his "speak softly and carry a big stick" speech, and President McKinley was fatally shot by an anarchist. Nelson Eddy, Rudy Vallee, and Gary Cooper were born in 1901.
