John Harris 
John was born on May 7th, 1817 in New Garden, Guilford, NC. John's father was Obediah Harris and his mother was Miriam Mendenhall. His paternal grandparents were Benjamin Harris and Sarah Dumas; his maternal grandparents were Aaron Mendenhall and Miriam Rich. He has three brothers and three sisters, named Aaron, Moses, Nathan, Phoebe, Lydia and Mary. He is the third youngest of the seven children. He had three half-brothers and nine half-sisters, named Benjamin, Obediah, David, Sarah E., Molly, James, Rachel D., Jemima, Martha, Rebekah, Judith and Elizabeth.General Notes
