Richilde was born about 0925 in Saxony, Germany.  Richilde's father was Emperor Otto ("the Great") I of Germany and her mother was Princess Eadgyth of England.  Her paternal grandparents were Emperor Henry ("the Fowler") I and Saint Matilda of Ringelheim; her maternal grandparents were King Edward ("the Elder") d'Angleterre I of England and Aelflaeda de Bernicie. She had two sisters named Wichberg and Liutgard.  She was the second oldest of the three children. She had a half-brother named Otto.  She died in 0999.
