Eadgyth was born about 0910 in Wessex, England.  Eadgyth's father was King Edward ("the Elder") d'Angleterre I of England and her mother was Aelflaeda de Bernicie.  Her paternal grandparents were King Alfred ("the Great") of Wessex and Queen Ealhswith of the Gaini; her maternal grandparents were Aethelhelm of Wiltshire and Elswitha of Mercia. She had three sisters named Hedwige, Edgifu and Edhilda. She had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named "the Elder", "the Magnificent", Thyra and Edith.  She died in Germany.

‌Eadgyth and "the Great" were married in a religious ceremony in 0930.  They had three daughters named Wichberg, Richilde and Liutgard.
