Adeliza of Louvain was born about 1105 in Louivain, Belgium.  Adeliza of Louvain's father was Duke Godfrey Barbutus ("the Bearded") de Lorraine I of Brabant and her mother was Ida de Namur.  Her paternal grandparents were Duke Henry de Brabant II of Lower Lorraine and Adela von der Betuwe; her maternal grandparents were Otto II de Chiny and Adelaide de Namur. She had a brother and a sister, named Godfrey and Ida.  She was the oldest of the three children. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Joscelain and "The Fair Maid of Brabant".  She died about April 23rd, 1151 in Flanders.


Adeliza of Louvain's family with Earl William ("Strong Hand") d'Aubigny III of Arundel

‌Adeliza of Louvain and "Strong Hand" were married in a religious ceremony in 1138.  They had three sons and three daughters, named Princerna, William, William, Cecily, Matilda and Alice.
