William, known as "Strong Hand", was born about 1106 in St Sauveur, Manche, Normandy, France.  "Strong Hand"'s father was William Pincerna d'Aubigny and his mother was Maud Bigod.  His paternal grandfather was Roger d'Aubigny and his paternal grandmother is Amice de Montbray; his maternal grandparents were Earl Roger de Bigod of East Anglia and Heiress Alice de Toeny of Belvoir.  He was an only child.  He died on October 12th, 1176 in Waverly Abbey, Surrey, England.


"Strong Hand"'s first family with Queen Adeliza of Louvain

‌"Strong Hand" and Adeliza of Louvain were married in a religious ceremony in 1138.  They had three sons and three daughters, named Princerna, William, William, Cecily, Matilda and Alice.


"Strong Hand"'s second family with Maud de St. Liz

They had a daughter named Maud.
