Joshua was born on December 13th, 1783 in Chatham County, North Carolina.1 Joshua's father was Joshua Hadley and his mother was Ruth Lindley. His paternal grandparents were Joshua Hadley and Patience Brown; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Lindley and Ruth Hadley. He had seven brothers and five sisters, named Thomas, Simon, William, John, Jeremiah, Jonathan, Jacob, Sarah, ??????, Girl, Ruth and Mary. He was the youngest of the thirteen children. He had a half-brother and three half-sisters, named Joseph, Catherine, Patience and Jane. He died at the age of 63 on August 23rd, 1847 in Danville, Hendrick County, Indiana Buried:. Mill Creek.
