Stephen Alvis Davis 
Stephen Alvis was born on June 13th, 1842 in Surry County, North Carolina. Stephen Alvis' father was Ruel Rose Davis and his mother was Obedience Hobson. His paternal grandparents were Jacob Davis and Lucy Rose; his maternal grandparents were William Hobson and Obedience Hadley. He had six brothers and two sisters, named Orlando Jacob, Brantley Hadley, Westley Abner, William Rose, John Henry, Joseph M., Eunice Elvira and Julia Ann. He was the oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 60 on March 28th, 1903 in Cedar Creek, Cass Co, Nebraska.-
